Hi there
Hope someone can help. I'm using WinXP on a PC, with a Draytek Vigor router. Some months back, I found I couldn't access some websites, and the problem seems to be gradually getting worse. I can't access many sites that need a password (anything in Yahoo groups, for instance), and yet other sites that also require passwords (mainly work-related) are fine (I work from home). I also can't send emails via my ISP (talktalk), even though I can receive them and can also send emails via my own web server and via Gmail.
I'm pretty sure it's something to do with my PC rather than my ISP or router, because I get none of these problems when using my laptop, even though it obviously uses the same router. I've tried turning off my firewall (Sunbelt Kerio, which I also use on the LT), and that has no effect, so I don't think that's the culprit either. Use AVG on both LT and PC too.
I did an internet search and the suggestion seemed to be that something might be blocking port 25. I did a test for this and got a message (220 mailbouncer), which seemed to indicate a problem with it, but then I checked my email accounts, and although my Gmail accounts obviously use a different port, the email account that uses my web server to send mail uses port 25, so that doesn't seem to be the problem either.
Has anyone any ideas, please?
