Hi, I have a small problem! The computer started freezing literally just after getting into windows - even when i use safe mode. I have tried reinstalling, but it still keeps freezing.
I tried changing hard drive - but this didn't work. I can't really change anything else easily as its a laptop. Its about 4 years old and is a Pentium 4. Is it time i buy a new laptop? Thank you, barnaby

Does your laptop overheat a lot? It sounds like something has been toasted - especially if its a P4.

Yeah - i mean before it started this, it would over heat all the time.
Definately cooked hardware - what you have there is an expensive paperweight.
TBH, you can get a decent replacement quite cheaply now anyway!

I think you should use an external body who keeps laptop cool.

As per my recommendation you should consult to your hardware person if still you get any problem then you should definitely but it from online store offering upto 30% Discount Computer Supplies (http://www.discount-office-needs.co.uk/Computers/26/)

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.

Probably it is a motherboard, or processor that has been cooked. You shouldreplace them immediately, because the excessive heat might damage the stillfunctioning parts, or keep it cool with an external body as suggestedbeforehand.
You gotta see if there is any sense in trying to save that stuff, cause youmight end up getting more trouble and expenses then if you would buy a newlaptop.

Yeah - i mean before it started this, it would over heat all the time.
hope not too late, try clean the cooling fan with heatsink, making sure no dust hinder the cooling path.
also try the following discharge and reset on the laptop. Besides these, hardware replacement or a new laptop is advisable.
Try the following to discharge and reset your laptop first.
Please remove all removable parts like DVD, exteral USB device(if any), remove battery and unplug the AC adapter, then press the power button over 15 seconds do not let go.
Then, connect the AC adapter only and power on the laptop again.
Hope this helps!
