Hi Guys,
Culd anybody help solve the problem of non response of the plug and play devices on my laptop.
The main problem is that my laptop refuses to recognise the usb devices.
I have done the followings but no success.
(1) I have used my recovery disc to re-load the window thinking that it could be software problem. This did not solve the problem.
(2) I have looked through the device manager for any conflicts but there is non. All were working well.
(3) Now I suspected that the support for the plug and play had been corrupted.
I am lost about how to resolve this problem.
The laptop in question is a Toshiba Satelite Equinum A60.
ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE
Thank you.

I would recommend searching for the chipset drivers online and ensuring you have the latest version - They could be outdated.

Also, you could try running your computer in safemode and see whether it works then. To get into safe mode keep pressing F8 (varies per PC) when you computer starts.

Safemode will loadup your computer with only the hardware components it needs and no fancy addons/extra's - If it works in safe mode then it is a conflict - I wouldn't trust the windows box saying no conflicts - I have had this before.

I think this is the Toshiba brand that faces such problems. I have discontinued using my laptop just because of this problem.

I would try the steps I mentioned above and if not see if you can contact Toshiba and see whether they know of any incompatibilities or upgrades to the system. They may have forums with users that have similar problems.
