Hi all, would you say this is my only option is to upgrade my RAM?

I have a ASUS X58Cseries laptop vista with only 1.2GB and it just lags so much, why is this?

I have AVG 9.0 Pro and Zonealarm Pro Security, CCleaner.

It constantly lags and very slow at running up and multi-tasking if I upgrade to 4GB for around £75 shall this sort it out?

I can't afford to buy a new laptop because money is tight at the moment so will upgrading sort it out?

Upgrading your ram is the quickest way to solve speed issues as a lot of slowing down is usually caused by using 'virtual memory' - ie treating yoru harddrive as ram.

If its still slow, then there may be other issues on the computer that need sorting.

Alright thanks, is £75 worth 4GB?

Yah that should be an ok price - as it would probably come in 2 x 2GB chips.

However, if you're only using a 32-bit operating system then it wont be able to see the full 4gb. It would probably register as about 3.5 gb.
