Please help i'm about to throw my computer against the wall

When i burn a cd to windows media player, on some of the cd's the quality turns bad. This didn't happen before, then it recently started only letting me burn certain cd's, now it wont let me burn any at all without the sound going awful and crackly. I'm not running any programs in the background and my disk drive isn't damaged. Does anyone know how i can fix this problem it would be really helpful? All the other sounds on my computer are working fine.

When was the last time you cleaned the cd lens?

Dust and other stuff can accumulate in the drive. Amazon have some good ones:
