hey im new here


i have to pc's one running xp the other running ubuntu

i am trying to swap the hard drives on the pc's

i put the windows xp hard drive in to the other pc plugged it in correctly when i boot up my pc i get the blue screen so i unplugged it and put it back in to the original pc and it loads up xp fine.

any body know wht the problem could be?

Probably due to the XP activation I'd imagine. Its not finding the right motherboard.

XP on the HDD is having all the orignal system hardware profile and configuration.

remove the HDD and install on the other PC, xp will show BSOD, sometimes safe mode may work.
This is because XP is more hardware components binding OS.
