Help with storage of photos

I love taking photographs, the file sizes are quite large and the memory on my PC gets full.

I have a removable external hard drive that I move them to and also save them to DVD. I've been looking at the possibility of using online storage, but it appears that sites like Mozy and Carbonite will only backup existing files on your PC. I'd love to keep all of my photos on my PC but they won't fit! Are there any other online alternatives as a permanent backup if the DVDs or external drive were ever damaged?
