I am having a problem with video downloading. When using video sites such as Youtube, or the like. The video will download as normal and start to play but then freezes after a few seconds. It does however continue to download.
Any ideas?

Hi Wuggy69 ~
Does the playback resume at any point? If it continues to download, do you press play after a minute or so to continue playback? What type of internet connection do you use?

Sorry about the delay in posting again - have been away for the weekend.
Does it continue to download? ie, had it downloaded and is just not playing or is it not downloading?
If it is the former, than I'd suggest installing the latest version of Flash. If you've not had this problem in the past then i'd say its a bandwidth problem. Goto www.speedtest.net and do the speed test. What speed are you getting for downloading?

Even if I am playing a saved file it won't play all the way through, only for a few seconds until I click on the play bar again - the it plays for a few more seconds and so on. I have only tried it on media player so it might work with something else.

Did it work with another media player? Have you tried VLC?
Another suggestion would be to download a codec pack - one comes with VLC, so try that first.

So i would then conclude that either WMPlayer has become corrupted or it is a codec issue.
What version of WMPlayer are you using?

Version 11
What is a codec?
A codec is a piece of software used to decrypt audio and video data. The fact that it works with VLC and not WMPlayer indicates that there is probably a fault in WMPlayer's installation. In which case I'd suggest you go to the microsoft website and redownload it. A reinstallation will generally overwrite any problems that have arisen since its last installation - plus it will be anewer version!
