Default Audio Mixer Not Being Recognized?

Hi,

Recently did a system restore of the Dell Inspiron 1545, and before the restore, i could record my tracks as a producer/artist. Now, when i plug the jack into the right side input of the laptop, (Not the headphone input), it wont regonize, nothing comes up, im just wondering if its a driver i didnt download whilst restoring?

Thanks,
Josh

You will have audio drivers that come with windows, and a microphone input should be recognised using the windows drivers. However, Dell computers usually come with diagnostic tools that run in parallel and it is this software that recognises the plugging in.

It is most likely that you can still use the input, but there's just no 'beeping' when its plugged in. If you really need the recognition, then there should be audio drivers available from the dell website for your laptop.

Hope that helps
