Default Another query (Monitor related)

Opted for a PC in the end, my mate built himself a cracker but then built an even better one so i got a good price.

It is just the tower and i'm pretty crap with this stuff... as you will tell

Only problem is, my other PC (the one i'm typing from now) has a sort of blue socket where the connector thing on the wee lead that goes from the monitor to PC would go in, that has small holes for the pins to slot into. Looks a bit like this inside.

Thing is, my new PC doesn't appear to have that wee socket but has a different one to put it into, which the PC i'm n now also has but the new one only appears to have the one and that has the wee pins inside it like the connector thing for the monitor to the PC which has a row of 5 pins then a row of 4 underneath like this.
.....
....

So it obviously doesnt fit as they both have pins in them.

As you can probably tell i'm useless with the technical stuff.

Does anybody have any ideas as to how i can get this monitor working? Or am i being mega thick as per usual and its an easy fix?

Cheers.

The second port you describe with 5 pins and then 4 is not a monitor port.

The blue port you describe is called a VGA port and is compatible with the majority of monitors.
