Computer not reading audio cds?

Default Computer not reading audio cds?

My computer will read dvds, burn dvds, burn audio cds ... but it wont read an audio cd, store bought or burnt. Its a fairly new computer(bought last year). Any ideas im completly lost

It sounds like the laser reader for that particular type of disc is broken - any ideas when this happened?

My first instinct would be to try reinstalling the drivers. Next I'd probably do a format and reinstallion of windows (but then I'm a sucker for punishment). Finally, if it were still in warranty, I'd send it back for repair (as by this stage hardware is the most likely culprit).
