Cool Is your slow formatting really slow? this is why...

Lets think about this logically...

When your saving something to your harddrive your looking at a transfer rate of approx 20mb/s...

When formatting its slightly quicker approx 45mb/s

Your 500Gb harddrive contains 512000Mb

This being processed at 45mb/s says it will take approx 11 377.7778 seconds

Divide by 60 which means 189.62963 minutes

Divide by 60 again means 3.16049383 hours or
(3 hours, 9 mins and 37 seconds)

Now that is for a transfer rate of 45mb/s if yours is slower expect to wait longer or if your HDD is smaller the time taken will decrease, there are other factors like what else is running on the PC and the type of connection etc.

Hope this helps someone
