Default Memory Sticks not accessible

When I plug my memory stick into the laptop windows makes a beeping noise to acknowledge it has been plugged in and the light on the memory stick flashes. However the memory stick does not appear under "my computer" or "Disk Management" in the "Computer Management" menu or anywhere else on the computer - there is no way to access the memory stick - I have tried multiple memory sticks, none of which work on my laptop but all of which work fine on other computers. I have had this problem for a while now but there was a time when all of these memory sticks worked fine on the laptop.

The same problem occurs with all 3 of my USB slots - however the USB slots work fine as there is no problem with other USB devices.

Please help. Thanks

Hi,

Try reenabling the USB ports incase they are disabled:

This is because your USB ports has been disabled! to enable just follow these steps,

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
3. Locate, and then click the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\UsbStor
4. In the right pane, double-click Start.
5. In the Value data box, type 3, click Hexadecimal (if it is not already selected), and then click OK.
6. Quit Registry Editor.

Let us know if that works!
