My desktop PC recently broke - it was a power issue. We had it fixed (they replaced the whole power unit). Since it has come back whenever I am using my removable portable hard drive, it ejects randomly and won't reconnect then reconnects and ejects again.

When I plug in another device like an iPod or a phone, it ejects entirely and won't reconnect.

This is a problem because my music is on my portable hard drive and I need that and my iPod to work at the same time.

Is it a power issue as they are both powered devices, and how can I fix it?
