Default BT Speed Capping

Do BT cap their speeds? I have an 8mb connection, yet speed testing shows it to be less than 1mb!

BT do indeed cap their connections between 5pm and midnight. I believe there is an unofficial limit of about half a gigabyte between this time. If you exceed this once or twice then you're alright. If you exceed it on a regular basis then they will cap you for the month.

How can they do that on an 'UNLIMITED' account?! Thats false advertising surely?
