Default Laptop recommendations.

Helloo people of techsupport.

As you can tell by the thread title i'm after a little help finding a laptop, as my pc is on it's last legs and i'm sick of not being able to listen to music/watch videos without it turning itself off and sharing with family.

Basically i'm looking at spending 4/500 pounds on a laptop that runs fast and smooth, that i can browse the net/chat with friends/listen to music on and preferably runs football manger very well.

I'm not very good with the specs that makes for a good laptop/pc so thought id ask for some advice from some people who are.

So does anyone have any recommendations?

Cheers, ben.

Hi Ben!

For £400/500 you can get a fairly decent laptop that will do everything but intensive gaming. Football Manager should run easily though.

Since you're looking to watch movies, then go for a 17" dell studio laptop. They start off at £419, but I'd recommend you customise it and upgrade to Vista Home Premium for an extra £30. If you can afford it then the next add on should be to upgrade the graphics card to the ATI 256mb for an extra £65. But unless you're looking to do much gaming (FM should be ok).

The 15" dell laptop will give you much more power for £499, its a trade off between what screen size you want compared to extra oomph.

Let us know if you have any questions or specific computers in mind.

I would advice you to go for HP or Compaq. Both of them are the most recommended brands.
