    Default Portable data

Is a USB flash memory stick the best way to carry portable data around?

Yes. You can get an 8gb stick for about £25 now - you can even partition them so that they can be used to boot up a stripped down version of linux. Of course, you'd be very sad :smirk: to do that!

You can get a DVDRW disc for about 20p which holds just as much data. Surely that would be better?

It depends on what you're after. Flash memory is more versatile in that you can simply plug into a usb port. A dvd-rw requires a writable drive and specialist software.
