    Default Backup Software

Hey, I've just got a new laptop, and will be doing lots of uni work on it, and want to back it up to an external hard-drive that I have.
I was just hoping that someone might know a freeware for backing up.Kind of something where you can periodically just hit backup and it will do it, lol!
    Cheers in advance.

    Hi Phil,

I assume that you're using windows? In my experience, back up software is one area where you get what you pay for, both Norton Ghost and Paragon Drive Backup are good - but both cost money. However, Paragon is usually offered for free on a computer magazine cover every other month!

If you're using Vista, there is a backup utility built in that will automatically do what you should need. The details are on the MS website: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/pro...ls/backup.mspx

    Hope that helps!

Yeah, I'm on Windows, I saw that one, but it didn't seem to give me an option to choose where to backup to, I'll have a scoot around, cheers!
