    Default Acer Aspire One

Has anyone got a Acer Aspire One, i bought one today but when i turn it on after around 30 seconds it turns itself off, even with power cord plugged in. Can anyone explain why?

Does it keep happening if you try to startup again? Is it brand new - ie has the OS still got to set itself up?

To be honest - if its brand new, then I'd just take it back straight away. If its not even been successfully setup then its unlikely to be a software problem.

However, first, try resetting the motherboard. Unplug the power adapter and take out the battery. Wait 30 seconds and then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Then put the battery back in and the power cord and start it up. If it still resets after 30 seconds then take it back.

Is there anything on screen that gives a clue as to why it restarts?

DId the computer not come with windows pre-installed? You can always wipe a computer and install windows provided you have the installation disks and a valid license.

As far as I know, Betfred Poke can be used under Linux using Wine.
