    Default Automatic word counting

    Hi

This might be a simple one, but it's a bit of an odd request.

I want to split up a number of very long word documents into equal sections of 500 words each. I don't mind whether the results become separate documents or stay in the same document with a divider indicating the running total of words.

Currently I am selecting approximately 500 words, using the word count tool bar to count them until it is exactly 500, then putting in text to indicate the running total.

There must be an easier way.

    Please help.

Hi, as far as I know thats the best way to do it. If you're using Office 2007 though, it has a word counter in the lower left hand corner which tells you your word position - which is more or less what you're after.
