I have recently started having a problem with the file mscms.dll, in the Windows System 32 Folder. Every time I do a Windows update, this file ceases to function, and has to be re-installed. I keep a copy of the file, and just use the same version every time. I'm running Windows XP Home, on an MSI system. Can anyone suggest a reason, and hopefully a cure for this? It's becoming quite annoying now. Thanks in advance.
Hi there,
When you reinstall this file, are you registering it by going to the command prompt and typing 'regsvr32 mscms.dll' ?
Where did you get the new file from? Did you get it from the internet?
Chris
What will you be doing on Christmas Eve? What better way to get your children into bed then to have them join the search for santa!
No, I wasn't aware I had to do that. I have done now, so I'll see what happens. Thank you. I got the file from dll dump
I tried to register the file as you said, but am told that 'regsvr32 mscms.dll' is not an executable file and no registration helper is registered for this file type.
