freeware back up utility for windows xp.

hi , i found this forum whilst doing a search for some advice.
my friend has a lap top running windows xp. she is not very computer literate.
she has asked me to back up all her files onto an external harddrive , which i have done.

what i need to know is this , is there a free program that i can download that will do this for her periodically?

she needs one that will make copies of all her files and store them on the external hard drive but after the initial back up it has to only add new files each time she backs her computer up , say for instance photos that have been put on her computer inbetween back up sessions.

can anyone please recommend a user friendly program that will do this without the need for a degree in computer science?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think that any such software is developed that will perform the task automatically. You need to get it done on your own.
