    Default HTPC Hardware Help

I have my computer linked up to me 42" TV and I would like to be able to go skip, pause control volume etc via remote control.

Can anybody offer any advice, these are the items I have seen so far:

LOGITECH BLUETOOTH diNovo MEDIA KEYBOARD & MX1000 MOUSE - £75

ANTEC VERIS MULTIMEDIA STATION ELITE LCD REMOTE CONTROL - £60

I prefer the look of the second one as it has a standard looking remote control but would also like a wireless ketboard and mouse that can run from a distance of 5 metres.

    Thanks in advance.....

    Hi Shudder

I also have my computer linked up to my 42" HDTV. For the wireless keyboard and mouse idea I would go for the Microsoft Wireless 3000 deskset - This is what I have. The mouse has BlueTrack tracking which is better the optical and laser mice and practically works off any surface - I wouldn't be able to test the 5metre range but I imagine this is fine - Might be worth a research.

Regarding the remote - I am also looking for one and possible a TV tuner so I am interested in this thread.

I went for the all in one approach and bought my tv tuner with a remote IR built in (Terratec Cinergy XS Diversity) - but caused issues in that it was very inconvenient to position the device so that the remote had line of sight.

The Antec Veris looks very nifty - I might even get one for myself to solve this problem!

As for the keyboard, I generally like Logitech. But comparing the 2 packages discussed, the MS 3000 looks better if only for the ergonomic layout.
