Default Speakers arent working on my pc

I recently bought some brand new speakers for my computer. when i connected them on they didnt work. I have checked on some other websites to find out what was wrong and they all said about sound cards and stuff. i tryed downloading a sound card for my computer using Driver Magician and still it didnt work.

I was wondering if any of you guys could help me get the correct sound card etc for my pc to make the speakers to work...?

Because m a beginner to computers and that i dont know where to start so if you guys could tell me what to do and that it would be helpful!!

By the way my Pc model number is

    Packard bell imedia 3065

it isnt the standard pc because ive had my motherboard changed and the speakers im attatching are different and also the cd drive has been changed if that has anythign to do with it.

Hi Don, welcome to the forum!

The soundcard is the name for the hardware inside the computer. What you've been trying to download is a driver for that soundcard.

What sort of connection do the speakers have? Are they standard headphone jack type sockets, or are they USB?

    Do other speakers work?

Plugging in new speakers shouldn't cause it to stop working esp if they work with your mp3 player. Did the sound card work right up until the point you added the new speakers?
