Is it a clicking sound or an actual beeping sound?

If its freezing for a few seconds and its a beep, does the beep happen after you hit a key on the keyboard?

    thanks for the reply

when im loading a page the screen will freeze up, the beep will sound (not a click) about 5 secs later, it will beep again, and the page will then load, i have loaded Firefox up again (after deleting it) its possible i had the beta version if it (im not too sure) so it could have been that???

if im scrolling down even it happens, i don't have to necessarily hit a key

I'm no expert, but it seems to me, its making room for more information, so it could be dumping say cache or temp files etc to make room, like something is full and it dumps it, then loads the info on the screen when it has the room???? is that possible?

I can guarantee that is exactly what it is going on - but it should be changing cache etc. quietly and have no effects to your browsing. Least of all should produce beeps.

Are you using Windows? If so, try using Internet Explorer. Does it still beep and have the same symptoms?

If not, then delete firefox and install the latest version.
