I'm putting together a new website using frontpage and photoshop for images. What do you think of flash? should i use that or java to make it look better?

I personally think that flash makes a website clunky and slow to download. Javascripts are ok as long as they aren't over used. A good language to use is PHP - its old and clunky, but it gets the job done and it is a lot harder for hackers to see the code because it gets processed on the server. Javascript gets downloaded and processed on the user's computer.

Macromedia's Dreamweaver is a better program than frontpage (or expressionweb as it is now known) simply because he doesn't insist on putting in so many extra unneccessary lines of code!

    Hope that helps!

Well it also depends on what type of website you're trying to make. Flash is good if its for an online game or something.

    What site are you after?

Java, Flash takes to long to download and it just gets irritating when you sit there watching it go from 1 to 100% etc... do something minimal and up to date.
