    Default Laptop won't see printer

I have a desk top PC running Vista Premium. The printer is an Epson RX585 all-in-one. The router is a D-Link. My laptop is a Fuji Esprimo Mobile with on board Vista basic. Whilst they talk to each other quite happily, the Fuji can't see the printer. Is it because of Vista Basic,or am I missing something. In theory,a printer can be shared provided the host machine is on. Or do I need a wireless print server. Any ideas would be welcome.I'm sure there's a simple answer.Thank you all.

The printer will have to be shared on the host computer - you will need to turn on file and printer sharing. Right click on your printer from the folder in Control Panel and then click 'sharing' and follow the screen.

    Ok,

From 'my network places' on the desktop, it should come up with a list of available computers that are available for sharing. (You might have to click on 'View Workgroup Computers' from the left hand menu).

Does the host computer appear there? If yes, double click and wait a little bit. Does the printer appear?
